Reality Star Sued Interior Design Firm For Fraud; Company Countersues Her For Trashing Their Name Online
“Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’s” Tammy Rivera has accused a celebrity interior design firm of conning her out of a $52,000 deposit for work on her home.
But the firm didn’t take the claims lying down and countersued her for defamation and libel after she took to social media to trash the business when the deal went bad, court papers show.
Rivera sued D&A Designs over the summer for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and fraud, alleging the design company took a $52,000 deposit but never did any of the work or delivered any of the furniture.
However little more than a week after Rivera filed suit, D&A Designs slapped her with a libel and defamation suit in federal court, contending that she defamed the company by creating Instagram posts blasting D&A Designs for stealing from her and telling her “nothing but lies,” the company said in court papers obtained by BOSSIP.
Rivera also posted a picture of the company co-owner Dereky Martin Hagler as well as their phone number, and Hagler said the company has received death threats, court papers state. The company said Rivera’s alleged actions cost them more than $1 million in business as well as severe emotional distress. The posts in question appear to have been deleted from Rivera’s Instagram.
D&A Designs admitted that Rivera contracted them for $105,500 interior design work on her home – including designing a basement powder room, painting work and chair upgrades that they said were finished before the completion date. But it contended that Rivera kept asking for additional work, which lengthened the project’s completion date.
The company also said that Rivera was supposed to hand over an $84,060 check – but only gave them $52,000, but they began the work anyway. Rivera also failed to make subsequent payments for the project, their court papers state.
It’s not clear how the relationship broke down or what became of Rivera’s $52,000. However D&A Designs said in its complaint that the project involved customized wallpaper and furniture that was not returnable once the work began.
Rivera, who is married to her “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” co-star Waka Flocka, is set to give a deposition on the case Dec. 11. Her lawyer declined to comment when reached by BOSSIP. D&A Designs’ attorney also declined to comment and referred a reporter to the court papers.
The company, which has worked with Mona Scott-Young and designed Yandy Smith-Harris’ office space wants Rivera to remove the offending posts, be barred from posting anything about the company and pay punitive damages of at least $75,000.

Lifetime Explores The Aftermath Of “Surviving R. Kelly” In Part 2 Set To Air In January
It’s almost been a year since the debut of Surviving R. Kelly on Lifetime this past January. As BOSSIP previously reported, calls to sexual assault hotlines increased by 35%, and #MuteRKelly activists were further galvanized to protest for R. Kelly’s record label to drop him. Seven weeks after the debut of the docuseries, the Cook County attorney’s office indicted the R&B singer on 10 felony counts of aggravated sexual assault involving alleged four victims and spanning over a decade, ultimately leading to Kelly’s arrest. Then in July 2019, R. Kelly was arrested on charges including child pornography and kidnapping, facing a total of 18 federal charges. Wild right. Well now Lifetime is back with a part 2, which will feature new survivors who have come forward as well as commentary from investigative journalist and author Jim DeRogatis, who has done some of the most thorough exposés on the musician — as well as Damon Dash, Mathew Knowles and Jimmy Maynes, #MeToo Founder Tarana Burke, W. Kamau Bell, actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, Radio Personality Angela Yee, Cultural Critic Jamilah Lemieux, and State’s Attorney for Cook County Kimberly M. Foxx, Women’s Rights Attorney Gloria Allred And Many Others. Check out the trailer for Part II: The Reckoning below:
Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning airing across three nights, beginning January 2 at 9pm ET/PT. Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning will feature interviews from a variety of perspectives including with new survivors, supporters, psychologists and cultural and legal experts, and more insights into the ever-growing saga of the R&B singer, who is currently facing federal and state charges. Khloe Kardashian Spending Time With Tristan Thompson But Friends Say It’s Not Romantic
“Khloe and Tristan are 100 percent back together. He spends the night there frequently when he is in town,” a source told RadarOnline.com. Tristan is based in Cleveland, where he plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers. “It’s a secret because she knows how much everyone would judge her. But she loves him despite how sh***y he treated her,” the source added.
And while Khloé isn’t eager to share her reconciled relationship status with the world, her family reportedly knows:
“She’s hiding it from the public, but her family knows all about it,” the source insisted.
Surprisingly enough, the family is reportedly supportive and haven’t been harboring bad feelings toward Tristan.
“They don’t hate him. He’s nice. They hate the way he treated her.”
But that’s just one report — other outlets are saying Khloé is resolved to NEVER reconcile with Tristan and that he’s just been spending more time with her because Khloé is allowing him access to baby True.
“Khloé and Tristan are spending time together strictly related to True,” the source tells Us Weekly, noting the twosome are coparenting. “She’s speaking to him, but they are not getting back together. They have not hooked up or anything.”
Hmmmm… Which report do you believe? On a recent episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” Tristan lavished Khloé with an expensive diamond necklace and Khloe’s bestie Malika even revealed that she and her boo O.T. Genasis didn’t believe Khloé was truly done with her baby daddy.
There’s another theory too, according to US Weekly, friends were concerned that Tristan is more motivated by missing out on Khloé’s lifestyle and not so much HER.
“Tristan has made it known to Khloé he wants to reconcile,” the insider explained. “Her friends are concerned Tristan misses the lifestyle and perks that are included when dating a Kardashian. [She] doesn’t seem open to reconciling with Tristan, [but she] encourages him to spend time with True.”
This sounds awfully confusing. Do you believe Khloé is hooking up with Tristan or is it strictly a co-parenting arrangement?

Vanna White Hosts Wheel of Fortune For The First Time In 37 Years
This week, Vanna White started her three-week stint replacing Pat Sajak as the host of Wheel of Fortune. This marks the first time that she will take on hosting duties in her whopping 37 years working on the show.
The long-standing serious announced just last month that White would make the transition to host after news broke that the program’s host, Pat Sajak, needed to undergo emergency surgery to correct a blocked intestine. Though this is the iconic letter board turner has never hosted an entire episode of Wheel Of Fortune, according to the New York Times, White switched places with Sajak for one round in 1996 when the host was dealing with laryngitis.
Even though she’s been apart of the show for several decades now, when the time finally came for White to host the show, she was still nervous to take on the task.
“Oh, my gosh, that’s an understatement,” she admitted. “I was very nervous.” However, it never really showed. There was one instance where she read the wrong amount on her spin of the wheel. “Oh no, I’m looking at the wrong arrow,” she said, before jokingly asking, “How do you do this show?”
Her first show on the job ended with Vanna awarding Raychel with a healthy $37,000 prize in the Bonus Round–which is a perfect number, considering it took 37 years on the show for White to get her first opportunity as host.
In the third and final week of Vanna’s stint as host, a surprise guest will be taking over her job–but it won’t be revealed until the episode actually airs.
