Diddy had an epic birthday bash this weekend that brought out ALL of your Hollywood faves. Diddy’s #Diddy50 party was of course presented by Ciroc Vodka and held Saturday at his $40 million Holmby Hills mansion in Los Angeles, reports The Daily Mail.

Diddy’s house was done up with lights and a huge sequined sculpture was set up outside, inside a #Diddy50 monogram was displayed.

Billboard Music Awards Honors Trailblazing Women

Thursday night Billboard held their annual Women In Music event, honoring some of the biggest names in the industry, both in front of and behind the scenes. Our favorite part of the night is probably when Nicki Minaj and Normani had a special moment together then Nicki was honored for what she’s brought to music. No matter how rough of a year she’s had — no one can deny the impact she’s made.

Normani gave a heartfelt speech to present Nicki with the Gamechanger Award

And Nicki was just as heartfelt in her acceptance speech where she spoke candidly and dedicated her award to Juice WRLD.

Belvedere Vodka Celebrates Local Leaders With Janelle Monáe

Last night ATL was set ablaze by Janelle Monáe and Belvedere vodka. The GRAMMY-nominated songstress/actor/activist celebrated Belvedere’s “A Beautiful Future” Campaign in Atlanta with the A-Town’s most influential identities.

The evening featured an immersive dinner with the “A Beautiful Future” theme built on the namesake program, which kicked off last year in Chicago when Belvedere and Monae hosted a brunch for Monae’s grassroots movement, Fem the Future, a movement dedicated to advancing awareness and opportunities for women and those who identify as women through music, arts, mentorship, and education.

In a future-forward manner, Janelle hosted an esteemed crowd of guests while honoring Atlanta hometown heroes, Nikishka Iyengar (CEO & Founder, The Guild ), Dr. Fahamu Pecou (Interdisciplinary Artist & Scholar, Fahamu Pecou Art), and finally Christina Rice (Social Entrepreneur & Founder, OMNoire) for their Atlanta community contributions – all local leaders who share Belvedere and Janelle’s shared vision of a future where natural character, integrity, diversity, and self-expression are celebrated.

The evening’s tastemakers, trendsetters and celebrity friends of Janelle Monáe were welcomed with an exclusive red carpet entry, then encouraged to sit at an immersive table where they shared their experiences, lifted their voices and participated in the dialogue of what a “beautiful future” means to them through the lens of diversity, equality, and self-expression.

Belvedere, which translates to “a place from which one sees beauty,” was created by a collective of determined and optimistic individuals at the fall of the communist era in Poland, who have since worked tirelessly to create a vodka of taste and character. Meanwhile, Monáe, whose own artistic journey reflects a similar determination, leads the multi-faceted collective of artists at Wondaland, which features a breadth of voices, styles, and figures coming together to revolutionize the future of music, arts and culture.

A lil positivity…

Atlanta’s The Emerging 100 Donates $100K In Scholarships, Hosting Holiday Benefit

There’s some positive news coming out of Atlanta via an organization dedicated to uplifting the youth. The Emerging 100, the award-winning young professional auxiliary of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc., has given out over $100K in scholarships within the last two years. The organization has a mission to enhance the mentoring and tutoring programs of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc and serve as role models to the entire community. In particular, they mentor students of Atlanta’s B.E.S.T. Academy and we previously covered their annual back to school welcome for students.
During that time, the pupils are flooded by suit-wearing black men who greet them with positive affirmations and high-fives to kick off the school year. Currently helmed by President Mitch Robinson, the group has donated $350K to date.

They are now prepping for their annual holiday fundraiser at Atlanta’s The Stave Room at American Spirit Works. The Emerging 100 of Atlanta’s holiday soiree and benefit will feature a covered courtyard and rustic interior ballroom fashioned into a winter wonderland.

Moreover, the signature fundraiser will feature some of ATL’s finest young professionals decked out in gowns, tuxes, cocktail dresses and furs. Over the years it’s become one of the city’s must-attend events and over 500 tickets have been sold thus far.
Last year’s attendees ranged from doctors, lawyers and the like to reality stars and Waka Flocka.

Naomi told the crowd of well-heeled celebrities and fashion insiders,

‘I learned today that I’m the first woman of color to receive this award.’ That leaves me to say who I consider my style icons: Grace Jones, Josephine Baker, Eartha Kitt, Donyale Luna, Bethann Hardison, Naomi Sims, Dorothy Dandridge, Diana Ross, Diahann Carroll, Janet Jackson, and Tina Turner.’

‘I could go on and on, but I want to thank you for paving the way for me and inspiring a generation.’

So dope that she paid tribute to those who paved the way. We also love that she counted Janet Jackson as one of her icons WITH JANET in the room.

Spotify X Motown Host ‘Queen & Slim’ Screening In ATL

Spotify and Motown Records want to know if you “can be their legacy.” That’s the question that lingered after Atlanta was set ablaze Friday with an exclusive screening of a highly-anticipated film featuring that very quote.

The two musical powerhouses recently hosted a special event at the city’s Woodruff Arts Center to celebrate the music from Queen & Slim. After guests watched the motion picture starring Jodie Turner-Smith and Daniel Kaluuya as outlaws turned folk heroes, a conversation on the music that scored their journey was held with Director Melina Matsoukas and President of Motown Records Ethiopia Habtemariam, who served as executive soundtrack producers, along with Coach K, COO of Quality Control. Head of Spotify Artist and Talent Relations, Chaka Zulu hosted the convo and Melina and Ethiopia reflected on their work behind the scenes to make Quee & Slim’s soundtrack as memorable as other black film’s. Melina named Waiting To Exhale” and “The Nutty Professor” as just a few examples.

“I had to talk to people to do the soundtrack and honestly it was all these white voices and I was too busy concentrating on the visuals to really even think,” said Melina. “And then I got home and you [Ethiopia] got that call.  [I said] You have to do this soundtrack, you see me. Also, you’ll deal with all my crazy, so I need somebody who sees me and is a real partner in this and Ethiopia and the whole Motown has completely been that.”

Following the conversation, guests including T.I. and Tiny and former Mayor Kasim Reed were treated to performances by several artists from the soundtrack including none other than Ms. Lauryn Hill who performed her first track in five years, “Guarding The Gates” as well as classics like “Doo Wop (That Thing).”

Ahead of the holiday season, the second iteration of five national events curated by the BACARDÍ Rum Society, an exclusive group of distinguished celebrity rum enthusiasts and ambassadors, took place and brought the premium rum’s porfolio to life.

Guests enjoyed sounds from DJ Moma at NYC’s Lower Eastside hotspot, The DL which was transformed it into a premium rum oasis with dedicated rooms championing each of the aged rum expressions comprised of BACARDÍ Añejo Cuatro, BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho, and BACARDÍ Gran Reserva Diez.

As guests entered the space, they were whisked on a journey of rum exploration as they experienced the aged rum expressions in ascending order. Upon arrival, guests were first guided to the Cuatro room, before making their way to the rooftop Ocho room, and finally, were treated to a Diez “speakeasy” tasting experience.

Jhene was on hand in an MM6 Maison Margiela neon green sequined two-piece ensemble with CHANEL pumps and talked about her upcoming music projects, which include a new album titled, “Chilombo” after her biological last name, launching right before the Grammys in January.

Best And Worst Of American Music Awards Fashion

The 2019 American Music Awards was the setting for a lot of interesting fashion choices Sunday night. Some of the biggest names in entertainment hit up the red carpet at L.A.’s Microsoft Theatre for the big night, which was hosted by Ciara. Cici donned all blue for her red carpet arrival but changed into a few different looking throughout the night. A lot of folks loved Lizzo’s tangerine ruffled number — but are you feelin’ it? Lil Nas X went all out with a neon green and zebra stripes, meanwhile Billie Eilish was very very creative with her head to toe Burberry. Definitely some DIFFERENT options, that not everyone will love. Which were winners for you? How about losers?

2019 American Music Awards

We also picked some looks that were a little on the safer side — but also stunning. Toni Braxton wore beige tulle, while Ella Mai got grown in a sparkly black LBD, Megan Thee Stallion took notes from Jessica Rabbit and Regina King also chose an all black look, but got creative with her headpiece. If you had to choose, Who Looked More Bangin?

More standouts from the AMA’s when you continue.
