Chick-fil-A Will No Longer Donate Money To Anti-LGTBQ+ Non-profit
The chicken sandwich game is a little bit cleaner today as iconic fowl food franchise Chick-fil-A has announced that they will no longer donate money to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Salvation Army as both organizations have been widely criticized for their anti-gay agenda.
According to Business Insider, the company has pledged to give more money to small organizations that fight causes like education, homelessness and hunger.
“We made multiyear commitments to both organizations, and we fulfilled those obligations in 2018. Moving forward you will see that the Chick-fil-A Foundation will support the three specific initiatives of homelessness, hunger and education,” the representative said in a statement to Business Insider.
CFA made clear where and with whom they would be spending their newly-enlightened dollars.
Chick-fil-A said that for 2020 it has committed $9 million each to those three initiatives: education, homelessness, and hunger. The company said that it was expanding partnerships with the education nonprofit Junior Achievement USA and the homeless-youth organization Covenant House International and that it would dedicate $25,000 to a local food bank following each new Chick-fil-A opening.
Goldie Taylor shared some insight on Twitter about how this decision came to be:
I have to say that this is the culmination of a multi-year strategy, not the result of a *certain* somebody's other chicken sandwich. Despite boycott threat, CFA lines remained stretched around the block. However, that move would never have been initiated without public pressure. https://t.co/RjcNKDIDkQ

Ed Buck Arrested As Third Black Man Overdoses At His Home
Ed Buck was arrested last night in Los Angeles after a 37-year-old who overdosed (the victim survived this time) at his home last week according to CBSNews. BOSSIP has reported on Buck extensively as this marks the THIRD Black man who has OD’ed with Buck over the past couple of years, the two previous incidents lead death of 55-year-old Timothy Dean and 26-year-old Gemmel Moore
Police have charged the millionaire Democratic donor with running a drug house out of his apartment in addition to providing methamphetamine.
Buck, who was arrested at his home Tuesday, should be held on $4 million bail because he is a “violent, dangerous sexual predator” who “mainly preys on men made vulnerable by addiction and homelessness,” prosecutors said in a motion.
Buck took advantage of his position of power and offered drugs, money and shelter to mainly addicted and homeless men in exchange for participating in sexual fetishes, including a fetish that involved administering dangerous doses of drugs, the motion said.
Prosecutors argue that Buck should be held on $4 million bail because he is a “violent, dangerous sexual predator”.
A lawyer who spoke to the families of the first two men who died at Buck’s hand say they are glad that justice in the process of being served:
“It’s unfortunate that it’s taken a third overdose for the (Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department) to finally act,” Hussain Turk, the attorney for Moore’s family said. “We believe that the third overdose could have been avoided. We believe that the death of Timothy Dean could have also been avoided had they taken the death of Gemmel Moore seriously.”
We pray to GOD that Buck isn’t allowed to be put in protective custody.
The Breakfast Club Talks To Malik Yoba, David Johns And Guests About LGBTQAI+
The Breakfast Club had a lot to learn about the proper ways to talk about the LGBTQAI+ community, but especially the T’s as recently panned Dave Chappelle calls them.
In light of the recent discussion about Malik Yoba’s attraction to trans women and subsequent accusations of underaged sex abuse, the actor and several other members of the alphabet community wanted to help Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee understand the ways in which these topics should be discussed correctly.
The conversation is enlightening to say the least.
Earlier this summer there was righteous indignation that Lil Nas X’s record-breaking single “Old Town Road” was removed from the Billboard charts because it “didn’t have enough country elements”. Fast forward 90 days and the upstart Atlanta rapper has the biggest song in music history and is now nominated for a Country Music Award.
The proverbial cherry on top is the fact that according to Advocate, Lil Nas X is the very first openly gay artist to receive a CMA nomination. Looks like hip-hop culture is significantly more progressive than the country folks and while that shouldn’t come as a surprise, the narrative surrounding homophobia in rap music would lead one to believe that Black folks are sole enemy of the LGBT community, but we digress.
Lil Nas X’s and Billy Ray Cyrus have been nominated for Musical Event Of The Year. We’re not very familiar with their competition, but when you have the certified longest standing Billboard #1 in music history, who is REALLY f**kin’ with you?
“Old Town Road” will compete with Maren Morris’s “All My Favorite People,” Brooks & Dunn’s “Brand New Man,” Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton’s “Dive Bar,” and Brantley Gilbert and Lindsay Ell’s “What Happens in a Small Town.”
“Old Town Road” should be the prohibitive favorite to take home the statue. But we wouldn’t put it past the lily-white crowd to hate.
