Lawyer To Advocate For Bonnie Bella In Reality Stars’ Custody Case

A Georgia Family Court judge has appointed a child advocate to help evaluate Joseline and Stevie J.’s fitness to raise their daughter Bonnie Bella.

This week Judge Roselyn Holcomb has appointed a Guardian Ad Litem to support the nearly three-year-old girl’s best interests in her parents’ legal fight over custody.

The guardian, Cherese Clark-Wilson, will help the judge decide a custody and parenting plan and have access to all aspects of the case and people involved, according to court papers obtained by BOSSIP.

Clark-Wilson can review medical records and interview any mental health professionals treating one of the parents. She’ll also have the power to order Joseline or Stevie to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, the court order states.

Both sides will have to share the $3,500 cost to hire Clark-Wilson, the order states.

We exclusively revealed that Stevie sued Joseline earlier this year for custody of the tot, arguing that she’d cut him out of her life and was shacked up in Miami with another guy. He argued that he was more mentally and financially capable of caring for little Bonnie, and asked the judge to force Joseline to pay him child support.

But the Puerto Rican Princess denied keeping Bonnie away from Stevie and said she was doing the best she could to raise the little girl.

Last week, a judge awarded primary custody to Joseline so that the girl can continue to attend school in the reality star’s new home in Miami.

SMH: Alicia Keys Posted An Instagram Rant After Her Son Feared Being Judged For His Rainbow Manicure

Alicia Keys Speaks On Her Son’s Fear Of Being Different

Alicia Keys took to Instagram recently to vent to her fans about how labels are getting in the way of people embracing who they really are.

She opened up about these frustrations on Instagram after an incident with her four-year-old son, Genesis, who she took to the nail salon recently. While they were there, the toddler struggled with whether or not to go through with getting the rainbow colored nail polish he wanted.

“He’s in the chair and he’s like, ‘I want [a] rainbow.’ So he tells the lady that he wants rainbow colors on his nails. And she brings all of these colors and she paints each nail a different color. And after she painted his nails, he looked at me and he said, ‘Mommy, I don’t want this on my nails,’” Keys said.

When the songstress asked her son why, Genesis went on to explain that could have problems with the colors on his nails.

“Can you believe this? 4 years old. He’s 4!” she said. “And he already understands the concept that someone is gonna judge him because he chose rainbow colors on his nails.”

Alicia encouraged her son to wear his nails proudly, telling her Genesis that people would love his nails because it showed off his creativity. She also assured the 4-year-old that a lot of men enjoy painting their nails.

Ultimately, this incident left the singer thinking about how judgemental the world has become.

“The way I see it, there is masculine and there are feminine energies inside of us all, period. It gets concerning to me that we can’t just explore these different sides of ourselves. These different energies that are within us.” She continued, “Even for me, myself, I oftentimes express the masculine energy that’s inside of me. And, all the time, if that happens, there are the judgments, and there’s the stereotypes, and there are all the energies that come towards that. And for my boys, [it’s] similar, if they want to express the feminine energy that’s inside of them. There’s all of these judgments, and all these rules, and stereotypes, and vibes.”

Alicia wrapped up her venting session, saying, “We should be able to explore and express [our masculine and feminine energies] however we want to.”

NFL Players Coalition Video Promotes DJDreamFund

The pain of losing a child is something that most parents fear most in life. The pain of having a child murdered by lyin’ a$$ police pigs who see Black skin as a threat even more.

The NFL Players Coalition is continuing the fight against police violence on Black people and other marginalized minorities that Colin Kaepernick sacrificed his professional career for. Yesterday, they released the following video highlighting the unlawful killing of Danroy “DJ” Henry back in 2010.

DJ’s family founded the DJDreamFund in order to empower young people to participate in community-based athletics, wellness, arts and summer camps. The idea behind the scholarship is to encourage kids to find their passion and achieve success beyond the limitations of their life circumstances.

If you have it in your heart and in your wallet, drop a few dollars to support a worthy cause.

Rest in peace DJ Henry.

LeBron James Helps To Build Housing For ‘I Promise’ Students

LeBron James is seriously dedicated to helping his students, and he proves that time and time again. The baller is now adding safe housing to the school he founded in his hometown, so that students have a stable place to live while they get their education.

The Ohio native announced on Monday that a historic apartment building in Akron is being renovated and turned into transitional housing for families in need at his ‘I Promise’ School.
“Initially, our work was focused on helping these kids earn an education. But we’ve found that it is impossible to help them learn if they are struggling to survive — if they are hungry, if they have no heat in the freezing winter, if they live in fear for their safety,” James said in a statement. “We want this place to be their home where they feel safe, supported, and loved, knowing we are right there with them every step of the way as they get back on their feet.”
James and his foundation opened the school for at-risk third and fourth graders in 2018 and plans to expand to first through eighth grade by the year 2022. LeBron has promised free tuition to the University of Akron when the students graduate.
The foundation is currently working on the project with Graduate Hotels, which operates boutique hotels in college towns around the United States. Graduate is going to renovate the historic Westmont apartment building, located approximately five blocks from the school in Akron’s Highland Square neighborhood to donate the apartments to the school.
“The I Promise Village by Graduate Hotels will be a monumental next step for us and LeBron and his Foundation’s commitment to the future of the students and their families,” said Graduate Hotels founder and CEO Ben Weprin in a statement. “It’s humbling to see the change they are affecting on a daily basis and we’re honored to be a part of the journey.”
The building currently has 22 units and the foundation said renovations will start immediately, since it’s scheduled to be operational in July when the next school year begins.

Power To The Players! California Governor Gavin Newsom Signs Bill Allowing College Athletes To Get The Bag

Gavin Newsom Signs Bill To Allow College Athletes To Get Paid

It’s about damn time that an adult made a decision that is in the best interest of children.

According to the LATimes, California Governor Gavin Newsom had signed Sen. Nancy Skinner-authored Senate Bill 206 that allows NCAA athletes to earn a paycheck off their name, image, and likeness beginning in 2023.

The billion-dollar NCAA has long fought against the idea of students being compensated for their time and talents with the phony idea that “amateur” sports will be destroyed once money becomes involved. Funny how that works.

The NCAA sent a letter to Newsom in September while lawmakers were mulling the bill, calling it “unconstitutional” and a “scheme.” The letter was signed by NCAA President Mark Emmert and 21 other members of the organization’s board of governors. The NCAA urged California to hold off on the bill to give a working group formed earlier this year more time to examine the name, image and likeness issue.

“Right now, nearly half a million student-athletes in all 50 states compete under the same rules,” the letter read. “This bill would remove that essential element of fairness and equal treatment that forms the bedrock of college sports.”

LeBron James and Draymond Green, to name a few, have been publicly supportive of this legislation and it appears that their influence certainly didn’t hurt the bill’s chance of being brought into law. Newsom signed the bill on an episode of LeBron’s lightning-rod show The Shop because, content.

“It’s going to initiate dozens of other states to introduce similar legislation,” Newsom said on the show. “And it’s going to change college sports for the better by having now the interest finally of the athletes on par with the interests of the institution. Now we are rebalancing that power.”

Right is right and wrong is wrong.
