Headline Heat: Charmaine From ‘Black Ink’ Talks Being Fired, (Not) Squashing Beef With Ryan & More

Charmaine From Black Ink On Headline Heat

It’s been a roller coaster of a year Black Ink Crew: Chicago cast member Charmaine. Shortly after losing her mom Glenda back in October, the tattoo connoisseur  announced that she was expecting her first child in March 2020. On top of that, she and fiance Nick Bey recently announced that not only are they still together and happily in love — they secretly tied the knot the knot sometime this  year.
All the ups and downs in Charmaine’s like on and off screen has certainly caused her to make headlines. Fortunately for us, she stopped by to clear up some of the wildest, most vicious headlines that Bossip has written about her. And if you’ve seen Charmaine in action, you know she does not bite her tongue.

Headline Heat: ‘Black Ink’ Star Ryan Henry Talks Firing Charmaine, Allegedly Smashing Miss Kitty & More

Ryan Henry On Headline Heat

Season six of Black Ink Crew: Chicago has already been a roller coaster, and we mostly have Ryan Henry to thank for that. The season started off with a banger last month when Ryan revealed that he had to get rid of some of his crew. And ish got a little messy when he fired Charmaine on her day off.  As the boss of the Chi-Town crew, Ryan is no stranger to making headlines.
Fortunately for us, the ink god stopped by to clear up some of the headlines BOSSIP has written about him, including whether or not he smashed Miss Kitty, and the real reason behind him firing Charmaine. Season six also reveals a more vulnerable side of Ryan, who has come to terms with the fact that he’s been using the shop to not deal with the passing of his sister, Nova, whom he lost to domestic violence in 2009.

Kanye West Announces A Special Sunday Service In Chicago

Kanye West has been flying pretty under the radar since his Trump rampage last summer, steering clear of everything that has to do with social media or interviews. Throughout most of 2019, the only glimpse fans have been able to get from the designer/rapper are his jam session church services entitled “Sunday Service“, along with a brief cameo in Travis Scott’s Netflix documentary.

Earlier this year, his special edition of Sunday Service dominated Coachella, pulling in thousands of people at 7am in the middle of the desert. More recently, he held another edition of Sunday Service in support of the Dayton, Ohio mass shooting victims.

But this Sunday, Ye is bringing it back to where it all started–his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. The low-key announcement was given via press release with tickets available on Ticketmaster. Besides the fact that the tickets went for a whopping free .99, we can expect a huge turnout simply due to the fact that there’s absolutely nothing like hometown love.

This hometown Sunday Service comes only two weeks before Kanye is reportedly releasing his next studio album Jesus Is King on September 27th. If you didn’t get a chance to secure your tickets yet, stay tuned into Power 92 in Chicago as they have plenty of tickets up for grabs.

Political Beef: Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Warns Ted Cruz To “Keep Our Name Out Of Your Mouth”

The Mayor Of Chicago Has Some Words For Ted Cruz

The hottest topic in politics right now–besides Donald Trump’s fake knowledge of the weather–is most definitely gun control.

In the past 60 days alone, Texas has had two separate mass shootings. You would think any politician from the state would focus on the safety of their people and just ignore anything else. But of course, that just doesn’t seem to be the case.

A prime example of these F’d up priorities is Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who is opposing gun reform and the safety laws being suggested. When asked why, Cruz only answered by using the city of Chicago as an example of why it doesn’t work. The senator often uses this same exact stance and recently responded to a tweet about gun violence in Chicago with a similar attitude.

According to reports from CNN, his remarks didn’t sit too well with the mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot.

Lightfoot decided to take to Twitter to respond, pulling the receipts out to show that the guns used in Chicago don’t even come from their city and also attached the 2017 ‘Gun Trace’ report backing up her claim.

Then, she let Cruz know to “keep our name out your mouth” when speaking on Chicago.

Ted Cruz has conveniently ignored all questions about universal gun background checks and anything else of the same vein, but he does plan to talk with actor and activist Alyssa Milano about “uniting to stop gun violence,” he announced recently on Twitter.

Gibson was driving when he pulled alongside a white SUV waiting to make a left turn, prosecutors said. Lee was paroled April 21 after serving eight years for a 2011 conviction for aggravated battery with a handgun, according to Illinois Department of Corrections records.

Humboldt Park Alligator Finally Captured After Evading Authorities

Have y’all heard about Chance the Snapper?

A Chicago alligator became an overnight celebrity this month after being spotted at Humboldt Park in the city. We’ve got an update and it looks like Chance the Snapper was captured today — and some people are sad about it. But only SOME.

From the Chicago Sun-Times:

Several onlookers lamented the Humboldt Park alligator’s capture Tuesday morning.

“I’m sad to see him go because it was actually pretty nice to have him here,” said Enoch DeJesus, a member of the Humboldt Park Fishing Society.

“It brought a lot of publicity to Humboldt Park, and people from all over came to try to see it,” he said.

The alligator has been swimming around the Humboldt Park lagoon for at least a week.

“The gator actually brought people together. And that’s pretty cool,” said DeJesus, who works security at the East Bank Club.

A person walking a dog had a decidedly different take: “Good. Now we can have the park back.”

See a photo of our reptilian friend here and shoutout to Alligator Bob (photographed talking to the media above) for all his hard work in finding Chance. We’re wishing them BOTH good luck!

Suspect Reportedly Kills Pregnant Teen Then Forcibly Removes Her Child

A tragic and grotesque act went down in Chicago that’s surely sent shockwaves into the community.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, police suspect a Southwest Side lady lured a young pregnant mother into her home right before the pregnant woman was killed and the child was cut from her body.

According to authorities, a body was found in a garbage can on early Wednesday in the suspected woman’s backyard. The body turned out to be that of the pregnant woman, Marlen Ochoa-Lopez. She was reported missing three weeks ago. Authorities say she was strangled to death and they ruled her death a homicide.

Family and friends of Ochoa-Lopez said she met the 46-year-old suspected killer on Facebook. The woman reportedly got 19-year-old Ochoa-Lopez to come to her home in the Scottsdale neighborhood by offering her extra baby clothes for her unborn son.

Hours after Ochoa-Lopez was last seen on April 23, the older woman phoned 911 for help, saying she had just given birth to the boy inside the home. The suspect then had the nerve to say she was suffering from “post-delivery issues,” according to a police source.

Sara Walker, a student pastor at Lincoln United Methodist Church, has been helping the missing teen’s family communicate with police. Walker said the 46-year-old woman later set up a GoFundMe page to raise $9,000 for her baby’s funeral, claiming the baby boy was sick and about to die. An anonymous tip eventually caused detectives to check the parentage of the baby using saliva from the missing woman’s husband, Yiovanni Lopez, and hair samples from Ochoa-Lopez’s place. DNA tests proved that the child belonged to Ochoa-Lopez and her husband.

The baby is currently in the hospital in “grave condition,” according to the police source.

Chief spokesman for the Chicago Police Department, Anthony Guglielmi, said that four “persons of interest” were in custody surrounding Ochoa-Lopez’s death and the “incident involving the baby.” Sources claim charges are expected to be filed against the 46-year-old woman.
