When it comes to racism and social justice in the United States, there’s no mind better suited to dissecting the ins and outs than Ta-Nehisi Coates, so when Vanity Fair decided to devote their September Issue to art, activism and power, they put him in the driver’s seat and had him guest edit the very special issue.

#JusticeForRabiah 30-Year-Old Pregnant Woman Murdered In Baltimore, Baby In Critical Condition

The family of a pregnant businesswoman is searching for answers after she was fatally shot. Rabiah “Kiyomi” Ahmed, a bright-smiled certified cosmetologist, and the owner of Kiyomi House traveling salon was tragically murdered Saturday, August 1. The Baltimore Sun reports that Rabiah, a Miami native who was 6-months pregnant with her first child, was shot when multiple bullets were fired into a residence from the outside. No one else was injured.

Kadeem Bailey, Ahmad’s boyfriend, told The Baltimore Sun that she was “an amazing spirit” and confirmed that he was present the night of the shooting.

Police said Rabiah was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where she died. Her child, a baby girl, was delivered and as of Sunday remains in critical condition.

Unbeknownst to many, George Floyd was honored not just with murals, tribute songs, and marches in his honor, but with a hologram that toured the country. Change.org and the George Floyd Foundation officially launched “A Monumental Change: The George Floyd Hologram Memorial Project” in Richmond, Virginia, the capital of the Confederacy. Specifically, the hologram tour kicked off at the site of the former Jefferson Davis Confederate monument which was recently taken down by protestors. The tour ended quietly on August 1 at 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, the church that was bombed by the Ku Klux Klan in 1963.

Prayers are being extended to former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Peter Thomas after he confirmed that he contracted COVID-19.

The Bar One Miami/Sports One Charlotte owner shared in an Instagram video that he was diagnosed with coronavirus after FIVE of his tests came back negative. On the sixth one, Peter apparently got the bad news. According to the entrepreneur, he thinks he contracted it from fans while taking pictures at his establishments and lowering his mask.

Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly considering it’s reality TV, not everyone was excited to see Wendy. Grand Dame Karen Huger threw shade at Wendy via her confessional where she said she’d met Wendy several times and was “unimpressed.”

Wendy caught wind of the shade and reacted to a fan on Twitter who noted that despite her being “unimpressed” Karen ran up to Wendy to speak with her.
