The judge of Meek Mill’s case, Genece Brinkley, has been criticized by more than just the rapper. Her own attorney thinks that she’s been unfair towards the Dreams & Nightmares rapper. Charles Peruto Jr, Brinkley’s attorney, sat down for an interview that would be used in a documentary on Meek Mill produced by Roc Nation and Amazon. Following the interview, Peruto heavily criticized Brinkley for how she’s handled Meek’s case. He later sued Roc Nation and Amazon for violating the Wiretap Act, claiming his comments were made “off the record.” Unfortunately, a judge just handed him an L in that case.

After careful review, U.S. District Court Judge Gerald McHugh ruled in favor of Roc Nation and Amazon. “This case arises out of a ‘hot mic’ situation where an attorney made candid and embarrassing comments about his client without realizing that he was still being recorded,” Hugh wrote in the case file. “Having reviewed the record, I conclude that the material facts of this are undisputed, and that Plaintiff’s wiretap actions cannot survive as a matter of law. According, I grant summary judgment for Defendants.”
Peruto’s statements were leaked onto the internet which is what stemmed the suit in the first place. He sued Roc Nation and Amazon last summer, claiming they unlawfully recorded his comments which he claimed were off the record.
Hazel-E found herself in a rift with City Girls over their song “Act Up” a few weeks ago. The Love & Hip Hop star accused the Miami duo of ripping off her song, “Actin’ Up,” among other things, which not only caught City Girls off guard but everyone else that paid attention to the feud. Needless to say, the terms “reach” and “clout chasing” were thrown around, especially since Hazel-E actually thought it was a good idea to release a “diss track.”
Southside and Yung Miami were evidently ready to square up with Hazel-E but she insisted that she would rather handle the beef with bars. She then compared their beef to Jay-Z and Nas which, you know, falls under the definition of a “reach.” However, the real reason she didn’t want to fight Yung Miami is that she’s known about the pregnancy this entire time.
Hazel-E took to Twitter to essentially call off her beef with the City Girls with a long-ass iPhone note. “Rose [Burgundy] called from jail & told me Careesha was preggo by that hoe ass n***a [Southside] and that’s why he was going dumb, protecting his,” she wrote. She continued to say that she was going to put it in a “second diss track” (because the first wasn’t embarrassing enough?) but decided against it. “I decided to keep that info to myself, as well as JT’s pregnancy.” It’s unsure how she knows if JT’s pregnant but take that last statement with a grain of salt.
“In the TMZ interview I coulda dropped it then and said she can’t fight because she is preggo, I still said I wanted to keep it on wax. This new generation needs to put some respect on the OG’s,” she added.
She later sent her congratulations to Yung Miami on her pregnancy before admitting she’s a fan of their song, “Throw Fits.”
Soul songstress Ari Lennox is an all-natural goddess with copious coils to match. The “Shea Butter Baby” album creator recently sat down with our Radio One family to discuss not only her sultry music but her luscious mane.
What’s the secret for Ari’s ALWAYS well-moisturized coils? After joking that it’s saliva from her dog, the D.C. singer said it’s a combination of shea butter, olive oil, Shea Moisture, coconut oil hibiscus, and Eco Styling gel if she wants to do a “slick bun.”
This past weekend Cardi B shared an image of her swollen feet to Twitter. The photo was a way to keep her followers updated on the serious side effects that can happen after undergoing cosmetic surgery especially if you don’t take care of yourself. Now that the image has made its rounds on the web, Dr. Terry Dubrow of Botched has shared his own comments on the image, expressing some concerns.
“The question is, why is she still having complications this far out for a breast augmentation and liposuction,” Terry pondered, as seen in the video below. “The fact that her legs are still this swollen indicates that there’s more going on than we’re actually hearing about.”
If Terry could tell Cardi anything it would be to remind her that plastic surgery is as serious as any other prodecure such as cardiac surgery. The recovery must be treated the same way.
Earlier today, Cardi B shared on Twitter that she’s been hitting the gym regularly and will never go under the knife again – the post-op must have been really bad.
“I been working out for the past 2 weeks cause bitch I ain’t getting surgery again😂😂😂but let me tell you I haven’t got a headache ever since,” she wrote.
Right around the time that Durant was providing his injury update on instagram, head coach Steve Kerr was explaining to the media how the Warriors felt a re-injury of the calf was the worst thing that could happen as they went into Game 5. Says Kerr, “the achilles came as a complete shock.”
“Would we go back and do it over again? Damn right.
“Our feeling was the worst thing that could happen would be a re-injury of the calf. That was the advice and information we had. At that point once Kevin was cleared to play he was comfortable with that so the achilles came as a complete shock.”
“I don’t know what else to add to that other than had we known this was a possibility that this was even in the realm of possibility there’s no way we would have allowed Kevin to come back. It’s devastating.”
The Golden State Warriors have faced plenty of scrutiny in the wake of Kevin Durant’s achilles injury. For instance, Charles Barkley blames the team for allowing the two-time Finals MVP to get on the court in the first place, while Jalen Rose says the people now feeling sorry for KD are the same ones who rushed him back in the lineup.
As part of his update on IG today, Durant noted that he wanted to be on the court with his teammates, adding, “Its just the way things go in this game and I’m proud that I gave it all I physically could.”

The City Girls are one of the biggest musical phenomenons in the world right now. The girl group managed to take over the country with their single “Act Up” and they’ve done all of it with one member behind bars. JT has been serving the completion of her prison sentence for fraud and when she gets out of the slammer, she’ll no longer need to resort to shady tactics to make some money. As she said in her latest exchange with her bandmate Yung Miami, she walked into prison broke but she’s walking out rich.
This week, Yung Miami announced that she is expecting her second child. The rapper shared a photo of her baby bump and fans are excited to welcome the newest member of their family. JT heard the news too, exchanging emails with Caresha and voicing her excitement. “I love you more,” wrote JT. “Girlllll it’s gone be all about summer now its 3 members of the City Girls, I still don’t believe we fanous [sic] God really favor us! I went to prison broke I’m coming home rich! AND you having summer so we gone have soooo much to do she gone wanna hang with us since baby Jai never do!! I’m excited I’m gonna have her a room at my house!!”
With the City Girls blowing up in the last few months, JT still hasn’t experienced any of their newfound fame on the outside. She better be prepared for her life to change drastically when she gets out.
Mariah Carey dropped off her Caution album in November of 2018 and it was filled with 10-tracks with the likes of Ty Dolla $ign and Gunna. The tape as a whole was a reminder that Mariah’s still got it and if you’ve been wanting more, then we’re here with good news. The “With You” singer was in Barcelona on Monday performing at Festival Jardins de Pedralbes and revealed that new tunes may be on the way soon.
At one moment during her set, the 49-year-old told her adoring audience that she was in the studio prior, working on some new-new. Mariah said she was in the studio with longtime collaborator, Trey Lorenz who she duets with Mariah on “I’ll Be There.”
““Breakdown” is one of my favorites. Just the layering of the vocals and working with, particularly, Krayzie Bone—his style, his flow, just his cadence,” Mariah previously stated when discussing her favorite album on Caution. “
“I was so inspired by them. I wrote my part, and then they came in and did their part, and we put it together, but I would never have been able to have that experimental time on an album before that. It was hard enough to get “Fantasy” done, because everybody was against that happening.
