21 Savage Claps Back At Troll Who Claims He’s Not Actually From Atlanta

21 Savage was at the center of one of the biggest controversies of the year after he was detained by ICE. Everyone was shocked to find out that 21 Savage was born in the U.K. Although ICE agents attempted to make it seem like 21 Savage was falsifying his identity for hip-hop, it was later revealed that he moved to Atlanta at a young age. His unfortunate situation turned into memes and jokes about the Queen and tea and crumpets across the Internet. Even though 21 admitted he found some of the memes funny, he’s definitely not here for anyone to question his come-up in East Atlanta.

21 Savage took to Instagram to post the cover of the latest issue of Paper Magazine. The rapper shared the photo along with the caption, “I’m from the east we don’t wear diamond grill we slugged up.” It didn’t take long for a troll to bring up that he was born in U.K. “You from the UK where y’all have knights and swords,” she wrote. 21 Savage swiftly got her together in the comment section after skimming through her profile. “@pariss_darapper you a truck driver and you a rapper,” he wrote in reference to her Instagram bio along with a facepalm and three crying emojis.

Aside from his Paper Magazine cover, the rapper is getting ready to hit the road with DaBaby this summer. Check the tour dates here.

Charlamagne Tha God Slams DJ Khaled Over Billboard Album Bundles Debacle

DJ Khaled’s been finding himself in a ton of hot water lately which is seemingly having an impact on the public’s perception of his positive mind frame. His latest album took the number 2 spot two weeks in a row on the Billboard 200 which upset Khaled because his energy drink merch bundles reportedly didn’t count towards his first-week sales, giving Tyler, The Creator’s IGOR the number one spot. Not only did Khaled reportedly throw a tantrum in Epic Records’ office, but he’s also been throwing shade at Tyler because of his merch bundles counted towards his album sales.

Although he’s planning on suing Billboard, apparently, the reason Khaled’s energy drink bundles didn’t count is that “some of the marketing by Shop.com and its corporate parent, Market America, had crossed a line by encouraging unauthorized bulk sales,” according to the New York Times. Apparently, Khaled was told that they would count initially but that didn’t actually happen.

A lot of people thought it was kind of corny for Khaled to make a massive deal out of the Billboard flub including Charlamagne Tha God who blasted him on the Breakfast Club this morning. Charlamagne brought up Khaled’s post where he said that he’s in the “music biz, not the bundle biz” which the radio host thought was pretty hypocritical.

“You were trying to sell bundles the first week! What are you talking about?” He said. “Khaled should be ashamed of himself, acting like this. Like I said if they would’ve counted his bundles and he would’ve debuted at #1 first week and if somebody would’ve called him out for that, then he would’ve been calling them a sore loser.”

Charlamagne later elaborated that DJ Khaled has a much larger platform than Tyler, The Creator which has earned him constant radio play, hosting gigs for major award shows, and performances on SNL. The radio host added, “if you don’t have a real connection with the people, you don’t have a real connection with the people.”

ChaseTheMoney Enlists Valee & Z-Money For “On The Way”

ChaseTheMoney’s growing into one of the most sought after producers in hip-hop. While he’s been putting in work for years, he’s known for his work with Valee and Z Money the most. The producer recently linked up with the two Chicago rappers for his latest track, “On The Way.” ChaseTheMoney delivers an eerie, spaced-out instrumental that perfectly fits Valee and Z Money’s soft-spoken delivery on the track.

“On The Way” appears to serve as the first single from ChaseTheMoney’s forthcoming project. Last month, ChaseTheMoney teased the potential tracklist to the forthcoming project which included “On The Way.” Additionally, he revealed some major features on the project such as the highly-anticipated collaboration with Drake, J. Cole, and Young Nudy. Young Thug, Billie Eilish, Lil Pump, and Juice WRLD are among the names also listed on the tracklist.

Twenty-thousand, I had count that and it’s not comin’ up short
I got dope, it’s exotic, might put that in my headrest
I’m askin’ if he got lean, and he textin’ me back “yes”
My new bitch is religious, and she textin’ me, “I’m blessed”

Uber Helicopter Says Transportation Is Safe Despite Fatal Crash

Just a couple days after Uber announced its helicopter transportation from JFK airport to New York City and back, the transportation service took a huge blow when one of its choppers crashed into a New York high rise, killing the pilot. While the horrible event has people questioning if the $200 ride is safe, with some questioning whether the legislation should be changed, air taxi boss Eric Allison assures many that it’s still a good move.

“We don’t need any legislative change and we don’t need any real change,” Eric told FOX Business. “We’re working with the FAA to take the existing rules and to use them and apply them in the right way to this new form of transportation.”

Eric is not pushing back on his plans to bring transit in the sky and claims he’s been working since “day one” to assure everything is safe and sound.“ Because of [the helicopter crash] safety is so foundational that we are just baking into everything, that we are continuing to do that and just it just emphasizes how important it is to do it right,” he said.

“Our plan is to eventually roll out Uber Copter to more Uber customers and to other cities, but we want to do it right,” he previously stated. “The main goal of this initial venture is to understand the operations behind aerial vehicles.”

Michigan Hotel Offers Free Rooms To Women Seeking Abortions: Report

In response to the restrictive anti-abortion law which was signed off in the state of Alabama, a hotel manager chose to make a difference in her own way. As numerous states continue to make it increasingly harder for women to access abortion safely, many are forced to travel out of their home state to undergo the procedure. Affordability especially becomes a concern when it comes to the latter as the women must account for transportation, food and accommodation. As such, Shelley O’Brien, a hotel manager for the Yale Hotel in Eastern Michigan, recently announced on the facility’s Facebook page that she would arrange free accommodation and transportation to women looking to get an abortion in Michigan. The announcement was made exactly the day that Alabama signed the restrictive abortion ban into law.

“Dear sisters that live in Alabama, Ohio, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, or any of the other states that follow with similar laws restricting access….We cannot do anything about the way you are being treated in your home state, but, if you can make it to Michigan, we will support you with several nights lodging, and transportation to and from your appointment,” were the words she wrote. Since then, the post has been shared thousands of times to the criticism or praise of many. It remains a truly admirable act considering Michigan still allows abortions…for now. Surely, it would lessen the burden for women looking to undergo the procedure.

Spice 1, Devin The Dude, & Kurupt Unite For “Since 85”

Today, veteran West Coast rapper Spice 1 has dropped off a new single from his upcoming Platinum OG album, which marks the latest addition to an already padded discography. With the project set to arrive in full on July 26th, Spice has decided to release the last song he recorded, as per OnSmash. “Since 85” brings a pair of experienced lyricists into the fold, both of which know their way around the bud-smoking section.

For starters, Devin The Dude has long made an art form out of kicking casual reflections on life beneath a doobie’s haze, and gained many a loyal fan in the process. In fact, there are some who might count The Dude among the game’s unsung heroes, underrated to the casual fan and beloved by those in the know. As for Kurupt Young Gotti, much has been made of his lyrical prowess, and he makes sure to live up to his reputation on this go-around. And why wouldn’t he? Spice 1 is a legend in the West Coast, and when an OG calls a summons, expect nothing less than premium dope.

It was around me, year of 1993
We got this orange bud from Humbolt County
Chocolate Thai was the best way to get high
But the orange was the bombest, we called it The Chronic

Chevrolet And The National Newspaper Publishers Association Select 6 HBCU Students For 2019 Discover The Unexpected Journalism Fellowship

Congratulations to six HBCU journalism students who picked up fellowships this summer courtesy of Chevrolet and the National Newspaper Publishers Association.

According to a press release, Chevrolet and the National Newspaper Publishers Association have selected six students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities for the 2019 Discover the Unexpected Journalism Fellowship. With the help of NNPA editors and reporters, the fellows will travel the country to discover and share positive, inspirational and relevant stories from African American communities during their eight-week summer internship.

The 2019 DTU Journalism Fellows are Tedarius Abrams (Bethune-Cookman), Tyla Barnes (Hampton University), Elae Hill (North Carolina A&T), Miana Massey (Howard University), Emani Nichols (Morehouse College) and Sharon Joy Washington (Florida A&M).

Chevrolet will award each DTU Fellow a $10,000 scholarship and a $5,000 stipend. The students will form two teams of three people, and each team will have access to an all- new 2019 Chevrolet Blazer during their reporting assignments.

The annual DTU program has awarded more than $330,000 in scholarships and stipends since 2015. The program started with a select number of schools and, based on the overwhelming response, the online submission process was opened to all HBCU students in their sophomore through senior years with an interest in journalism, communications, mass media or visual arts.

We’re thrilled to meet this year’s group of fellows and immerse them in all things Chevrolet.”

“The NNPA is excited to partner with Chevrolet for another year in support of young journalists to amplify community voices across our country,” said NNPA President and CEO Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis Jr. “Having these young journalists in our newsrooms working side by side with our editors and writers is inspiring and we are committed to including young storytellers’ voices in our reporting.”

The DTU Fellowship takes place June 6-Aug. 1, 2019. DTU fellows will work with the Atlanta Voice, Chicago Crusader, Houston Forward Times and The Washington Informer. The fellows’ journey begins in Atlanta, where they’ll participate in two days of journalism training with Chevrolet and NNPA leadership before they hit the road to begin their reporting assignments. Their stories will be featured on the NNPA website (www.nnpa.org/chevydtu) throughout the summer.

Tinashe Remixes Drake & Chris Brown For Her Own Version Of “No Guidance”

It’s been a hot minute since we heard from Tinashe. The star announced earlier this year that she left her label, splitting from RCA Records in a confusing move. Fans had speculated that she was actually dropped from the deal but her manager made it clear that that was not the case. Tinashe has always been a talented dancer and actor and she got back in the game last year but things weren’t all that successful. Her role on Dancing With The Stars did not end with a win and she was actually blamed for her musical’s poor ratings. She didn’t let any of that affect her mindset though. When she heard Drake and Chris Brown’s new single, she felt inspired to make a return to the game by remixing their track, officially marking her comeback season.

Tinashe’s plans for this year are still unclear but she seems keen on making an impact and reminding everybody why we loved her so much in the first place. “No Guidance” is an early candidate for song of the summer and the songstress wanted in on some of the fun, recording her own take on the duet. She keeps many of the same melodies intact while also offering her own view on the verses.

Listen to the remix below and stay tuned for more music from Tinashe in the coming months.

Quotable Lyrics:

Falling in love really ain’t for me
Pouring it up so I feel nothing
But I still sleep, n***as can’t compete
You got it babe, you got it
